My daughter and I live in an old victorian house that was built in 1909. The house is located in our city's oldest historic district. It is a vintage home that still needs to be restored. Um, luckily I have pretty much a lifetime to do it lol.
The house is quite large (bought it when I had 6 dogs back in August 2011) with tall 12' ceilings and original hardwood floors. It is about 2500SF with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, a foyer, spacious living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, and a small laundry room.
The master bedroom is very spacious and it has its separate sitting area. The master bathroom is built for couple. It has spacious 2-sink area, a shower, separate toilet area, and also a jacuzzi--which sadly, I don't really use much but I have to say it is nice to have it in there :)
There is a big front porch and upstairs screened-in porch. The house has 3 fireplaces ---in the living room, dining room, and family room. But unfortunately, only one works. In the back, there is a big wooden deck (it is lovely to spend lazy afternoons back there while sipping tea). And there is a garage next to the backyard as well. I don't have a big backyard, which is probably a good thing since I am no P. Allen Smith (the famous gardener!) and I definitely have no green thumb.
Since I love vintage, my house is pretty much decorated with many vintage items. Most of my furnitures are either true vintage or second hand items I acquired from garage sales, local thrift shops or craigslist. I do like to mix modern pieces with my vintage things.
Though I have A LOT to do in the house, I am loving my old, vintage house.
Should I ever move somewhere else later, I'd probably still keep this house :)
